  • A Christmas Memory

    Winters icy patterns
    Adorn the window pane
    The moon a Glitter ball
      of snowflake
    it's Christmas time again

    Boots are crushing snowdrifts
    All about the tiny town
    Carol singers in the distance
    A joyful Christmas sound.

    My childhood heart is bursting
There's no other time like this
    As under the hanging mistletoe
    My parents share a kiss

    Now older my Christmas times
Are busy filled with modern toys
But in my heart I feel a longing
For a time of simpler joys

  • ONE ENCHANTED DAY

I looked from the window on a misty Christmas morn,
The fog was thicker than it had ever been before,
It was cold and quiet and all around my house,
Nothing appeared cheerful not even the decorated tree,
The fairy she looked glumly down,
And the baubles hung their heads in shame,
The tinsel draped all carelessly among the fading lights,
Above the fire there stood one solitary card from someone I once knew.

Around the foot of my Christmas tree not a gift awaited me,
Santa forgot to visit and it all seems so lonely,
I was beginning to despair that this was just another day,
But along came an angel and this she said to me,
I'll give you a tree with decorations so bright and a mantle full of cards,
If you'll enjoy this special day with every inch of your heart,
And so now my Christmas is full of cheer, saved from heartbreak and despair,
I thank the moon and all the stars for my one enchanted day.

    A Memory to my Mother

My mother is always with me. She’s the reminder that things work out.

She’s the smell of sugar cookies … and Sunday roast … and the sight of kneading bread.

She’s the hand that picked Roses , the sound of prayers with her family

She’s the word of kindness needed, the trust that God’s nearby.

She’s a welcome shower on a hot summer day, a rainbow breaking through a dark sky after the rain.

She’s the place that I came from, my first home—one I’ll always know.

My mother’s in my heart forever.

She didn’t just teach me about love … from every ounce of her it still flows.

    No Longer Here

Although Mom has now left this earth, she is still with me. I see my mother when I look in the mirror. I think of her when I eat homemade bread the “healthy” way, with butter and strawberry jam. I hear her voice on a hard day saying, “Rosie things have a way of working out.”

How is your mother always with you?

  • Welcome to my profile

A little poem to start my journey which I would like to share.

First I would like to say I am just a beginner and am trying

    to be more creative.

    My poem is about Friendship.

Friendship is not always having the words to say.

But always being there to listen.

    Friendship is a shared silence-

Because we are comfortable in it.

Friendship is having each others back-

When times are rough or easy.

Friendship is knowing that you will be there-

    No matter where I am.

Friendship is the only thing that can build Miles and time.

    Friendship is...

    You.

    Welcome
